FileFilter 1.0

FileFilter is a program that allows you to hide confidential information on your computer. With its help you can hide files, directories and Type Group files such as images, video, text documents, etc.

FileFilter consists of two components: System Module (kernel mode driver) that hides the data, and Control Center - the program with Graphic User Interface for managing the System Module work.

The product is designed for Windows 2000 (build 2195), XP (build 2600), 2003 (build 3790) operation systems.

You need administrator rights to install and use the program. Files and directories hidden by FileFilter become invisible for all users including the administrator. Hiding is turned on automatically while system startup, i.e. the user need not start the program manually. FileFilter operates only within the system it is installed in. It doesn't modify the file system. In case you run some other operation system or mount the disc with hidden files to another computer, these files become visible. We recommend to install FileFilter on all operation systems of your PC.

In this version hidden files locking and invisible mode are implemented. Control Center running can be protected by password. This makes its use impossible for outsiders. Control Center can be started by pressing hot key (password will be asked if necessary).

The program provides secrecy of its presence in your PC and compact distributive size. In invisible mode all FileFilter program files, system registry keys and Control Center process become invisible. Thus other users cannot find out neither the program itself nor presence of the hidden data in your PC. As for the FileFilter size, it seems to be the most compact product among the similar products. But with the further growth in functionality it will inevitably become a little less compact.
